About Tim B. Walker
Artist Statement
For decades, my career in graphic design has been dedicated to telling stories on behalf of others. My painting practice is driven by a similar mission, yet fueled by a compulsion to better understand my own lived experiences. This perspective is deeply rooted in the Northeast Arkansas Delta—a landscape defined by its specific light, its people, and its complex Southern culture. I consider myself a Southern realist painter.
I utilize contemporary realism to explore landscapes, figures, and the structures we leave behind, using these subjects as points of embarkation for deeper inquiry. My work invites viewers to find connections within their own personal histories, assigning significance to the overlooked through the deliberate act of painting. Ultimately, I paint to understand my place within humanity’s broader landscape, beckoning the viewer to join me in that discovery.
